ARK Crafting Skill Calculator

A blueprint shows a base stat, but a high Crafting Skill lets you roll well above it. Enter a blueprint's armor, damage or durability and your Crafting Skill to see the full range of what you can actually craft.

Maximum craft

Each craft rolls a random bonus between the minimum (the blueprint value) and the maximum shown. Craft repeatedly to chase the top roll. The bonus only multiplies the part of the stat above the 100% base, which is why low-quality blueprints barely improve while a high-percent blueprint gains a lot.

How Crafting Skill works

Your Crafting Skill starts at 100% and rises 10% for every point you put into the Crafting Skill stat. The maximum bonus you can roll on a blueprint is (Crafting Skill − 100) ÷ 20 percent — so 300% skill gives up to a 10% bonus, and 500% gives up to 20%. That bonus is applied to the blueprint's surplus over 100%, then a random amount between zero and that maximum is locked in when the item is crafted.

This is why mass-crafting from a good blueprint matters: a 250% armor saddle blueprint at 300% Crafting Skill can roll anywhere from 250% up to 265% armor, and only repeated crafts land near the top.
