How ARK color IDs work

Every creature in ARK: Survival Ascended is painted from a fixed palette of 100 colors. Each color has a numeric color ID (1–100) — the number you pass to color commands. A dino exposes up to six paint regions (0–5); which regions are visible differs per species, and some regions are unused.

To recolor the creature you are looking at, use the region picker above to choose a slot, then copy a color's command and run it in the admin console:

That paints region 0 of the targeted creature color ID 15. Spawn commands such as SpawnDino and cheat summon roll random colors; SetTargetDinoColor overrides them. The same IDs are used by ASA's randomizer settings and most breeding tools, so a color's number is stable across the whole game.
